Lions latest Environment and Parks Committee has been busy!!Lions River Park Viewing Platforms
The Thamesford Lions are excited to share the progress on the Lions River Park upgrades, made possible through our fantastic collaboration with the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority and the Township of Zorra.
Lions River Park is a beloved spot in our community, featuring a walking trail, the Harvey Beaty Memorial Garden, benches, and access to the water. Thanks to our recent improvements, the park now has beautiful new viewing platforms! These platforms not only provide breathtaking views of the river but also serve as a naturalized buffer zone, protecting the banks from erosion and sedimentation caused by foot traffic.
But we’re not stopping there! This spring, we’ll be planting native trees, shrubs, and pollinator plants to further enhance the park’s natural beauty and sustainability.
🚧 Lions River Park Phase 2 Progress! 🚧
Following the success of Phase 1, Phase 2 of the project is now complete! This latest phase includes additional viewing areas and steps, making the park even more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
A huge thank you to our incredible partners:

At the Thamesford Lions Club, each member brings unique skills and experience to our projects. Lion Glenn Ross, with his extensive background in related work, is a perfect fit for this committee and has played a key role in its success! Every Lion contributes in their own special way, making our club stronger and more effective in serving the community.
We can’t wait to see the community enjoying these new additions, and we look forward to bringing even more improvements to Thamesford’s green spaces. Stay tuned for updates as we move toward the final stages of completion!
