For 65 years, the Thamesford Lions Club has been a proud and unwavering cornerstone of community service in Thamesford.
Our journey began in the early 1960s, when a pivotal community meeting in 1960 brought together local residents with a shared vision: to establish a Lions Club dedicated to serving and strengthening Thamesford. With guidance and support from the Ingersoll Lions Club, those early visionaries laid the foundation for something that would grow into a lasting legacy of service.
On April 20, 1961, that vision became reality as the Thamesford Lions Club was officially chartered. From the very beginning, the club was not content to simply exist—it acted. One of its first community contributions was the installation of seating stands at the north ballpark, an early reflection of its commitment to improving local spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Now, 65 years later, that same spirit of action, service, and community pride continues to define who we are.
Over the decades, the club has grown in both membership and impact, now bringing together approximately 70 dedicated members who share a passion for service and a belief in building a stronger community. Through changing times and a growing Thamesford, the Lions have remained a steady presence—supporting youth programs, community initiatives, recreation, and local causes that matter most to residents.
As Thamesford has grown and evolved, so too has the Lions Club, adapting to meet new needs while holding firmly to its core mission of “We Serve.” Each project, each fundraiser, and each act of service has added another thread to the fabric of our community.
